Ans:-The Royal Bengal Tigers of Sunderban are world-famous. Besides tigers, crocodiles, deer and different species of birds are mainly found here. (সুন্দরবনের রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগার বিশ্ববিখ্যাত। বাঘ ছাড়া, এখানে প্রধানত পাওয়া যায় কুমির, হরিণ আর নানা প্রজাতির পাখি।)

Father wolf, Mother wolf, four cubs, Tabaqui - the jackal, Sher Khan- the tiger, Baloo - the bear, Bagheera -the Black Panthar, Akela – the great gray lone wolf. (বাবা নেকড়ে, মা নেকড়ে, চারটে শাবক তাবাকুই নামক শেয়াল, শের খান নামক বাঘ, বালু নামক ভালুক, বাঘিরা নামক ব্ল্যাক প্যান্থার, আকেলা নামক ধূসর বর্ণের একাকী নেকড়ে।)

Ans:-When Father wolf woke up from sleep in the evening, he scratched himself, yawned and spread out his paws one after the other to get rid of the sleepy feeling in their tips. (সন্ধের সময় যখন বাবা নেকড়ে তার ঘুম থেকে উঠল, সে সারা শরীর চুলকে, হাই তুলে থাবাগুলি একের পর এক ছড়িয়ে দিল, তাদের ডগায় তন্দ্রাচ্ছন্ন ভাবটা কাটাবার জন্য।)

Ans:- The animals are scared of the jackal because he sometimes goes mad, suffering from hydrophobia. In such condition he runs through the forest biting everything in his way. ( অন্যান্য জীবজন্তুরা শিয়ালকে ভয় পায় কারণ সে জলাতঙ্ক রোগে আক্রান্ত হয়ে কখনো সখনো উন্মত্ত হয়ে যায়। তখন জঙ্গলে সামনে যা পায় তাকেই কামড়াতে কামড়াতে সে ছুটে বেড়ায়।)

Ans:-The law of the jungle' was that no animal could change the fixed hunting ground without due warning. (জঙ্গলের নীতি ছিল যে কোনো জন্তু বিনা সতর্কীকরণে তার নির্দিষ্ট শিকারের ক্ষেত্র পরিবর্তন করতে পারবে না।)

Ans:-Hearing the loud roar of the tiger Father Wolf was angry because he (the tiger) had changed his hunting ground which was beyond the law of the jungle. Besides his roar could also scare all the games away. (বাঘের গর্জন শুনে বাবা নেকড়ে রেগে গিয়েছিল কারণ সে তার শিকারের ক্ষেত্র পরিবর্তন করেছিল যা জঙ্গলের নিয়মের বাইরে। তা ছাড়া, তার গর্জন সব শিকারকে ভয় পাইয়ে দিতে পারত।)

Ans:-Tabaqui was known for his mischief. He praised the children to their faces. It made Father Wolf and Mother Wolf uncomfortable and Tabaqui pleased. (দুষ্ট বুদ্ধির জন্য তাবাকুই পরিচিত ছিল। সে বাচ্চাগুলোর সামনেই তাদের প্রশংসা করল। যা বাবা নেকড়ে ও মা নেকড়েকে অস্বস্তিতে ফেলেছিল এবং তাবাকুইকে আনন্দ দিয়েছিল।)

Ans:-Sher Khan was a big tiger. He lived near the Waingunga river, twenty miles away. (শের খাঁ ছিল বড়োসড়ো একটি বাঘ। কুড়ি মাইল দূরে ওয়েনগুঙ্গা নদীর কাছে সে থাকত।)

Ans:- Father Wolf heard the dry, angry, snarly whine of a tiger. (বাঘের শুকনো, রাগী, দাঁত খিচানো ঘ্যানঘ্যান বাবা নেকড়ে শুনতে পেল।)

Ans:-The father wolf reacted sarcastically and said that Sher Khan was a fool to begin a night's work with such noise which would alert their bucks who were not like the fat Waingunga bullocks. (বাবা নেকড়ে বিদ্রূপাত্মকভাবে প্রতিক্রিয়া জানাল আর বলল যে শের খান একটা বোকা তাই ওরকম শব্দ করে রাতের কাজ শুরু করে যা তাদের হরিণদের সতর্ক করে দেবে, যারা ওয়েনগুঙ্গার হোঁতকা মহিষদের মতো নয়।)

Ans:-Tabaqui found a bone at the back of the cave. (গুহার পিছন দিক থেকে তাবাকুই একটা হাড় খুঁজে পেয়েছিল।)

Ans:-The wolves of India do not like Tabaqui for his peculiar behaviour. He runs about making mischief. telling tales, and eating rags and pieces of leather from the village rubbish heaps (তাবাকুইয়ের অদ্ভুত আচরণের জন্য তাকে ভারতবর্ষের নেকড়েরা পছন্দ করে না। সে দুষ্টুমি করে বেড়ায়, গালগল্প ফাঁদে আর এবং গ্রামের নোংরা আবর্জনার স্তূপ থেকে ছেঁড়া কাপড়ের টুকরো আর চামড়ার টুকরো খায়।)

Ans:-In the jungle of wild animals, there stood a human baby before Father wolf. Such a sight was the most wonderful thing in the world. (জন্তু জানোয়ারে ভরা জঙ্গলের মধ্যে বাবা নেকড়ের সামনে এক মানব শিশু দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল। এটিই পৃথিবীর সর্বাপেক্ষা বিস্ময়কর বস্তু।)

Ans:-The brown baby, who could just walk, stood in front of the wolves' den holding a low branch. He looked up at the father wolf and laughed. (কৃয়কায় শিশুটি, যে সদ্য হাঁটতে শিখেছে, নেকড়েদের গুহার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল গাছের একটা নীচু ডাল ধরে। সে মুখ তুলে বাবা নেকড়ের দিকে তাকাল আর হাসল।)

Ans:-The parents of the man cub had run off. (মানব শিশুটির বাবা-মা পালিয়ে গিয়েছিল।)

Ans:-Sher Khan doubted that the man's cub might have come to the wolves' den after its parents had run off. That is why he came to the den of the wolves looking for the baby. (শের খান সন্দেহ করেছিল যে মানব শিশুটি নেকড়েদের গুহায় এসে থাকতে পারে তার বাবা-মা পালিয়ে যাবার পর। সেই কারণেই সে শিশুটির খোঁজে নেকড়েদের গুহায় এসেছিল।)

Ans:-Akela was a great gray lone wolf. He was also strong and cunning. Akela used to lead the pack of wolves. (আকেলা একজন ধূসর বর্ণের নেকড়ে। সে ছিল শক্তিশালী এবং চতুর। পুরো নেকড়ের দলটিকে সে নেতৃত্ব দিত।)

Ans:-Akela was wise enough to foresee that the 'man cub' would grow up to be an intelligent human being and be able to help the wolves in future. That is why he wanted him to be in the wolf family. (আকেলা যথেষ্ট বুদ্ধিমান ছিল এটা পূর্বানুমান করার জন্য যে মানব শিশুটি বড়ো হয়ে বুদ্ধিমান মানুষ হবে এবং ভবিষ্যতে নেকড়েদের সাহায্য করতে পারবে। সেই কারণেই সে তাকে নেকড়েদের পরিবারে রাখতে চেয়েছিল।)

Ans:-Baloo, the bear, wanted to teach the 'man's cub' (বালু নামক ভালুকটি মানবশিশুটিকে শিক্ষাদান করতে চেয়েছিল।)

Ans:-Bagheera, the black panther supported Baloo to keep Mowgli with the pack of wolves. (মোগলিকে নেকড়ের দলে রাখার জন্য বাঘিরা নামক কালো প্যান্থারটি বালুকে সমর্থন করেছিল।)

Ans:-Father Wolf saw a man's cub when he got ready to leap. It was the most wonderful thing to him. (ঝাঁপানোর মুহূর্তে বাবা নেকড়ে একটি মানুষের বাচ্চাকে দেখল। এটি ছিল তার কাছে সবচেয়ে আশ্চর্যজনক বস্তু।)

Ans:-Sher Khan didn't dare to face Mother Wolf. He knew that where he was she had all the advantage of the ground and would fight to the death. So he backed out of the cave mouth. (মা নেকড়ের মুখোমুখি হওয়ার সাহস শের খানের হল না। সে জানত যেখানে সে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে, মা নেকড়ে সেখানে নিজের জায়গার সমস্ত সুবিধা পাবে এবং আমৃত্যু লড়াই চালাবে। তাই সে গুহার মুখ থেকে পিছু হটল।)

Ans:-Bagheera was the Black Panther. Nobody dared to cross his path. (বাখিরা হল কালো চিতা। কেউ তার পথ মাড়াতে সাহস করত না।) He was cunning as a jackal, as bold as the buffalo and as reckless as a wounded elephant. But his voice was as soft as wild honey dripping from a tree. (সে ছিল শেয়ালের মতো চতুর, মহিষের মতো সাহসী এবং আহত হাতির মত বেপরোয়া। কিন্তু বন্য মধু চুঁইয়ে পড়ার মতো মিহি ছিল তার গলা।)

Ans:-The animals that eat meat are known as carnivorous. Lions, tigers, crocodiles, peacocks, snakes etc. are carnivorous animals. (যে প্রাণীরা মাংস খায় তারা মাংসাশী প্রাণী নামে পরিচত। সিংহ, বাঘ, কুমির, ময়ূর, সাপ ইত্যাদি মাংসাশী প্রাণী।)

Ans:-The animals that eat only plants are called herbivorous. Deer, goat, hare etc. are herbivorous animals. (যে প্রাণীরা শুধু ঘাসপাতা খায় তাদের বলে তৃণভোজী। হরিণ, ছাগল, খরগোশ ইত্যাদি তৃণভোজী প্রাণী।)
